.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT to review these rules detailed below. By electing to become a member of this forum, you have agreed to abide by the terms and rules;

-- Any person who elects to become a member of this message board and exercises the privilege of posting messages here is understood to be in general sympathy with, or sincerely interested in learning more about the subject that is described in the board's heading. This board is intended for the use of people who are either in some way (physically or in spirit) connected with Unitarian Universalism, or with liberal religion in general--or are at least curious and interested in learning more about it. Those who join with us in that "general spirit of goodwill and brotherhood" are indeed welcome! However, we have a ZERO TOLERENCE policy for posters who simply want to undermine or disrupt the board's activities, or to badger other posters.

-- You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

-- We will take every effort to minimize any "spam," "troll" and "sock-puppet" activity. For those who are new to a message board, a troll is a person who posts inflammatory messages intended to cause disruption and discourse. A sock puppet is a person with additional accounts used to avoid their deletion from a board, or to create the illusion of support. If you believe someone is a 'troll', please notify the administrator by personal message. The Administrator will determine if the activity on the board requires further actions, including, but not limited to: removal of offending post, suspension (for at least 24 hours) of the rights of the member to post, permanent removal of the member from the board and the final option of notify the past member's Internet Provider.

-- We want opposing opinions expressed. Honest dialogue and debate sharpen our arguments and reveal both their weaknesses and strengths. However, debate should be restricted to the areas that are designated for that purpose. In all areas, please stay away from personal attacks.

-- Please limit the use of CAP LOCK! Once in a while is ok...but not for an entire post. Same goes for fonts: Keep them simple.

-- You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board, except as provided for in the "Fair Use" provisions of U. S. federal law. (Further information on this is posted or linked elsewhere in this forum.)

-- A member may only have one account on this board. Multiple accounts will be deleted immediately and that member will be banned from the use of this board.

-- Please remember that the "administration" is not responsible for any messages posted. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. (--uufreespirit at juno dot com--) We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

-- Decisions of the administrator, and designated moderators, are to be considered final. The administrator reserves the right to make revisions and additions to these rules as necessary. General announcements will be made to notify members of any changes made herein.

-- The bottom line is that we want this to be a civil, respectful and courteous online community for the discussion of topics relating to liberal religion, and we ask for the help of all here to help us in creating such an atmosphere of respect, goodwill, and inclusion.

THANKS SO MUCH!
